Organic Agriculture Research, Development , and Extension Center

About OARDEC

This facility was established to provide research
development, and extension services in support to the
implementation of the RA 10068 or the Organic Agriculture
Act of 2010. It serves as a venue for capability building
hands-on training and education, and for showcasing
technologies, products, and research activities
on organic agriculture.

UPLB OARDEC is  a 7-hectare learning laboratory in organic agriculture which is being managed by the Agricultural Systems Institute, College of Agriculture and Food Science (ASI-CAFS). 

The construction of the building was funded by Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agricultural Research and University of the Philippines Los Baños. 

In 2023, OARDEC was accredited as a Learning Site for Agriculture by DA-ATI Region IV-A and was considered as one of the project sites of PASEO – a CHED funded project being implemented by UPLB.

academe and private sector. Provision of information, technologies, expert advice and capacity development programs
in organic agriculture.

School children and special interest groups are welcome to visit the university for educational, even recreational tours. UPLB is an active player in the Los Baños tourism activities and we promote not only UPLB but its role in the development of the town and its environs as well.
