UPLB OARDEC — An educational farm tour at UPLB OARDEC was conducted for a group of farmer-clients and staff of the Bangko Kabayan (thrift bank) and Rangtay sa Pagrang-ay Microfinance, Inc. (Microfinance NGO) from the provinces of Laguna, Quezon Province, Benguet, Cagayan, Nueva Vizcaya and Ilocos Norte on 11 May 2023.
The farm tour was organized by Ms. Anna Manahan from the Microfinance Council of the Philippines (MCPI). and Mr. Mike Melendres, President of Earthman Consulting and Development Corporation (Earthman & Co.), and his staff to advocate climate-resiliency in agriculture for microenterprises. It was also an exposure trip for farmer-beneficiaries who are interested to learn about organic agriculture technologies and practices.
